The visiting siren...

I couldn’t have asked for a better day. My querida Jenevive came for a visit. She had been experiencing a tough time at home and wanted to get away. So I bought her tickets and we set out to sail in the ocean. We were under the sun all day. Making her skin a luscious golden caramel. Jenevive’s beautiful voice was like a siren. We held each another, not wanting the day to end. The sun set and Jenevive became quiet and still. She stared at the dock and land. I wondered what was on her mind but did not ask. Did she enjoy the day as much as me? I was concerned but want to know – when is the right time to interrupt a person’s thoughts?

I think you did the right thing in waiting until later - that said you might have waited to long at this point - I am sure that once you went to walk away that would have been a fine time to check in. And of course if she doesn't want to talk about it - that should be respected - she will when she is ready

Enjoy the silence when you have it.

She will tell you in time. A woman's mind is a complicated thing. Don't be the typical guy that complains about it. Let her know that you are there if she needs to talk - but leave it at that.

If you love soemone, you should feel free to ask. Sometimes a quiet moment could be misinterpreted.

Jenevive's voice is like a siren's? You're lucky Ed. I used to have a girlfriend whose voice was like a duck call. She snored too. Hang on to this one.

Being together in silence is a good thing because you enjoy each other company without exchange or words. When the right time comes, she would tell you what she is thinking and you would understand her more at that time.
