Today I saw Southern Stingrays during my scuba diving trip in the Cayman Islands. They are such graceful creatures. Stingrays float gently in the water and have a friendly disposition. I couldn’t help but reach out and touch the smooth, leathery skin. The creature was gliding across the sand as it fed on small shellfish and worms. If you had the chance, would you go scuba diving with stingrays?

So far I've only touched stingrays in a touching pool at a zoo - I think they are very smart and beautiful. I don't know whether touching them in the wild is smart though - they sting hence the name.
Who could say no to an offer like that? Everybody dreams about stepping out of their own shoes for a brief moment and scuba diving with stingrays definitely offers such an avenue. To scuba dive with stingrays is essentially like entering a new world.
It sounds amazing but I don't think I would, I'm a little apprehensive about getting stung.
That is the beauty of the experience I feel. It is dangerous, but for some reason I feel that most animals that you don't intend to harm will feel that you are not hostile towards them and they will not fear you and therefore will have no reason to try and protect themselves against you.
I don't know if I could actually get up the nerve to scuba dive - I have a fear of getting too close to animals when they are clearly faster than I am.
