Weathering the Storm

Today was another beautiful day on the open sea. The sailing was clear and calm... how deceptive the ocean can be. Just before dusk a squall exploded on us like a creeping assassin. It just materialized like the magician nature is. The next moments were filled with chaos. Thank God I was sailing with people of experience otherwise something terrible could have happened. Even with everyone working frantically we barely tied everything down in time. When the necessary work was done the rest of the men went down below to listen to the news, me- I tied myself to the mast and stood the storm, facing death and laughing. Not more then two hours later the sea was calm again, as was I, and the water damage rendered by the storm was hidden below the waves. What a beautiful concept that truly is. The men later told me that the only news of storms was a hurricane that hit Texas earlier that day. The hurricane's name was hurricane Edouard, it seems an almost humorous coincidence.

Man you are freaking crazy tying yourself to the mast like that. I just can't imagine doing something like that. You must be outside of your mind.
